Forming a Writer's Group
Yesterday I met with two fabulous women. Together, three of us happen to share a lot of common threads: we are all mothers (all have an older daughter, younger son), we are all teachers, we all love and write music, we all live within a 5 mile radius of each other, and I am sure we will discover new common threads every time we meet.
We meet. I love that we are meeting. We are there to encourage, support, and hold each other accountable.
Why did we start meeting? How did we choose our members? It was a matter of one contacting the other contacting the other. And so a chain was formed. And we are hoping to become stronger together than we were separately. We will remain unique on our own, but hope to become something new by linking together. The irony is that we all feel more free by linking our chain links together. Go figure.
