I had the wonderful opportunity to work on a creative team to write for two projects for Sesame Street in 2015 and 2016.
The first project was for season 46. "The Good Sport" episode. I co-wrote a song called "The Letter G is For Games". My colleague Brad Patullo directed the project and created some wonderful stop-motion clay animation for it. We had a great sound engineer, Chris Moore, working on the mixing and mastering in his studio. Chris and I both added the instrumentation (keys, percussion, guitar) to the song. I invited Abigail Walker to be our vocalist. I added a harmony vocal part. I also invited my son, Donny Burke, to do the voice over for the film. We are very happy with the finished product and our producers at Sesame Street were too!
We were able to watch a live broadcasting of our song when it aired on HBO on August 12, 2016. It was a special moment for my two kids, my husband, and I. We had a sesame bagel party and invited everyone who helped on the project with animation, engineering, instrumentation, vocals, and their families. It was a huge honor to be a part of the show!
HERE IT IS!
Our second project for Sesame Street is finished and is awaiting an air date. I am so honored and excited to have a second project with them under my creative belt. We worked on another stop-motion animated film. I went solo this time around and wrote lyrics and composed a song called: "Counting Opposites". We used the same team to record, mix, edit, animate, and master our film. It was a streamlined process and went very smoothly again. This will be for season 47 and should come out next summer. More details to follow as I am are able to share them. Tune in to HBO's Sesame Street this summer, or check out their website for more information on this and our other project "The Letter G is for Games" .
